It is really weird that you know this guy BD,a week or two ago he had one of those great Led Zeppelin wine pairing parties in the city, and I read about it and was thinking what a strange idea.It turns out it was a strange idea by an equally interesting strange man,you have got to like a fat guy in a fez playing the therimin(sp)and sounding like Captain Beefheart. His resume is impressive BD, he must be a fun guy to spend some time with.

Was it at City Winery? http://www.citywinery.com/

My old pal that introduced me to Mike, and a guy I saw at least 50+ GD/JGB shows with, is an investor there and Edison's attorney (that will keep you busy!).

I was trying to find a Thurston Moore/Sun Ra vid for micah, but I'm sure he knows they exist. (tribute - not together).

Truth be told BD, I did not take notice of the venue being struck with just how weird the concept was,I don't believe the article mentioned your friend( I could be wrong),what caught my eye was a picture of Joe Bastianich who I know from his mothers Lidia's cooking show and his own Master Chef show.City Winery is developing a name for itself and with any luck for your friends sake will succeed in spite of Michael Dorf's involvement,he was a partner and the guy who ran the Knitting Factory from it's opening until ?,he was well known for his ability to fuck up everything he was involved in.

I think Sonic Youth and Sun Ra did a show together in Central Park late 90's. There may be some stuff out on the internets from the same.... ACTUALLY - much earlier than I thought ... and (egads) Sun Ra opened (this is right about same time that SY was playing on Ragged Glory tour with Neil Young - and the other band would be drivin n cryin or Social Distortion in the opening slot; if you listen to Weld, you'll know Neil was listening to SY)

Best. BTW, Calhoun got the kid in this year's senior class. Talked to a coach that saw Drummond in Vegas this summer and said he's ready for NBA now (not that there is an NBA)
